Picnics are the best way to enjoy the simple pleasure of life and spent time with family. I love family picnics it gives me a change to interact more with my family member. No one is big or small we all behave and enjoy like kids on picnic. It is a nice way to see the fun personality of my family.
One of my most memorable family-picnic was on 25th December 2011. We all celebrated Christmas at a farm house located at the outskirts of my city. Since days my brother and I were asking our dad to take us for a picnic, finally dad agreed and we invited our aunts, uncle and cousins for picnic too.
“Happiness is having a large, loving, caring, close-knit family in another city.”― George Burns
Our picnic started early in the morning, we hired a bus and all travelled together. It was a 2 hour drive. We had great fun in the bus.

We reached at the farm in the morning had our breakfast prepared by the cook at the farm house. The breakfast was delicious and I loved eating with everyone inside the house.
We lay mattress on the garden; the garden was huge and beautifully decorated with different types of plants and trees. There were mango and coconut trees; and flower plants of rose, sunflower, and jasmine. Many vegetables were also grown in the garden.
It was a pleasant day we sat in the garden later in the afternoon. We played many games and even danced on a loud music. There was also music competition, my team won in that competition.
My mom had prepared tasty snacks for the day and even my aunts bought tasty foods. We all sat together and enjoyed the meal at the garden of the farm house.
It was one the most memorable day of the life, sitting with my family and relaxing at the farm house and munching homemade tasty snacks. We had pizza and coke for lunch. We even had a coke competition my uncle won the competition by drinking seven glasses of coke all at once.
At the time of returning home the gardener gave us many fresh vegetable such as cabbage, tomatoes, spinach etc. the day ended on a very fast note, it is well said good times do not last long. All we kids prayed to stay there for the entire night and return next day.
Unfortunately our elders had plans for next day we had to go back home. We travelled for three hours in the bus; it took longer to return because of the city traffic. We had loads of fun returning back, we spend time eating and playing games.
I was so tired when I reached home; I went to my room and slept instantly without even brushing my teeth and changing my dress. Later on my mom wake me up and ask me to brush, change and then slept like horse. It was the most memorable day of my life.
Ayreen, when you write a descriptive essay, the first thing you have to learn to do is accurately describe your surroundings. Tell the reader more about the way that the farm looked when you arrived. Take the reader into the place with you. Make your descriptions more vivid by engaging the five senses of the reader. For example you could have described the farm as:
I knew we were nearing the farm because the smell of the air was changing from the polluted, smog filled air of the city to the dewy, fresh scent that the morning dew on the roadside grass offered those who, like us, traveled with open windows in the car. The sound of clucking chickens and cows mooing seemed to get closer as we moved deeper into the tree lined rough road.
You also need to double check your grammar and sentence development. Note that you wrote most of this essay in lower case letters even after a period. The first letter of a word after a period is always capitalized to indicate a new sentence.
