Moon Landing Hoax Essay

Moon Landing Hoax John F. Kennedy once said, "No nation which expects to be the leader of other nations can expect to stay behind in this race for space...We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard”. The main motive for this quote was to ensure that the United States wanted to beat out the Soviets in the space race. Ever since the Soviets tried to advance on the moon, the United States wanted to be the first successful nation to accomplish the first ever moon landing. At the time, the tension between the United States and the Soviets was very strong because the Cold War just ended and neither nation wanted to lose to each other in the space race. Just as the United States planned their mission to the moon, the Soviets were the very first nation to ever settle on space. The U.S. as well as President Kennedy were shocked to see the Soviets be the first nation to fly in space. The United States had to come up with a plan in order to beat out the soviets, by becoming the very first nation to ever land on the moon. Overall, it is clear that the United States hoaxed the moon landing in order to beat out the Soviet Union in the space race through observations, evidence from a Hollywood studio, and allowing NASA to pull off the Apollo mission. Once the United States landed Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on the moon, it was clear that the U.S. hoaxed the moon landing due to observations being viewed

Essay about The Future of Earth's Moon

695 Words3 Pages

The Earth's moon has a great deal of mystery and indefinite discoveries left for us to explore. One of the most talked about topics of the Moon is if we are going to be living there in just a few short decades or centuries. Just imagine yourself, for example, weighing 150 pounds on Earth. If you were to live on the Moon, you would feel like you only weigh 26 pounds. That is because the Moon's gravity is only 17% of Earth's gravity. You would float into the dark sky, and if you weren't attached to anything stationary, you would float off into outer space, and probably never return. No doubt that the Moon has been in existence for a long time, there are still many millions of years left for us to explore what the Moon has in store for…show more content…

These systems would then be placed within the Moon to do its job. They have only thought of ideas, and have not implemented any ideas yet for this system.

The diameter of the moon is 2,140 miles across, which is about one quarter of the Earth's diameter (Menzel 323). If you think about it, that is quite a large distance, and being that it is about one quarter the size of the Earth, that means that if the Moon is colonized, it could probably hold at least 1,624,160,602 people; that number being one quarter of the earth's population now (Earth's internet). The moon has extreme varying temperatures ranging from the daytime high of 265 °F to the nighttime low of -170 °F (Gallant 116). That means that the people living on the Moon would need to be adapted to live there. Whether it is an adaptation that they evolve into having, or something that we can make ourselves, it needs to happen one way or another if we are to do this successfully.

Even though our technology is so advanced, for example, we can predict hundreds of years into the future what the moon will be like, we still are not exactly sure how the moon was created. One theory is that the moon was torn out of the Earth's side when the Earth was very young and still in the beginning stages of creation. A second hypothesis states that the Earth captured a small planet-the Moon- and pulled it into its orbit (Gallant 116). But if this theory were to be correct, the orbit
